Hey guys, like Al, I was assigned to VA-85 from 83-87. I was stationed in Va beach. but went out on Kennedy and Saratoga. Who would have thought I would look back on that part of my life and have so many good memories. Im married, living in Cincinnati with our two kids. I'll try to get the word out as well. Thanks guys, Bob

Thanks for the note Sherwin. I recently discovered this site while looking for memory lane. I am originally from Cleveland but ultamately settled in Columbus. I began my active duty in October 1975 at RTC Orlando. After boot I went to ADJ "A" school at NATTC in Millington, TN. I then ended up in VA-85, an A-6 squadron based at NAS Oceana, VA. Our squadron was assigned to the USS Forrestal, CV-59. Thus, I spent some time at sea and traveled to places I never would have gone to if not for my naval service. I decided I didn't want to make a career in the military so I separated from active duty in October of 1979 and was discharged in 1981.
I agree, Doug has put together a great site and I've done what I could to spread the word. Thanks for the note. Hopefully, others will join in soon. Delete Comment
